Happy Birthday, Cameryn!!

She's 6 years old...I can't believe it. She is getting so big. She had her party at Moon Jumpers again this year and it was a blast. Kids flying (thanks to the dads helping them into the bounce houses) and running everywhere. It was a lot of fun. Happy Birthday, Cammer Jammer! We love you!

We woke up Christmas morning to a big surprise. There was no presents, no stockings and no tree. Santa had left a note saying that he'd taken all of our stuff to our new house. (It's finally finished, and we closed on Dec. 16th). So we got to celebrate Christmas at our new house. The kids thought that was pretty awesome. We had a wonderful day!

The girls had a great time trick-or-treating this year. Poor Ethan, had a nasty cold, so he had to stay home with mom. (Good thing he has no idea what Halloween is.) Cam was a fairy this year and Jordy was a mermaid...which is funny because last year Cam was the mermaid and Jordy was the fairy. Next year they've decided that they are both going to be vampires...we'll see :)

Cam's Preschool Graduation

Cam had her preschool graduation and luckily, Dan & Debra (Chad's parents aka papa & mimi) were able to come and see it too. The kids did such an amazing job and were so excited to perform their songs. I am so thankful for her teachers and for the amazing program that they run. We are really going to miss them!

Cameryn is 5! Cam had a great birthday this year. The primary sang to her, she got to play in the snow that she is convinced was in honor of her birthday, and had cake and ice cream with friends. Then she got to have a party at Moon Jumpers, which is always fun! Thanks to everyone for celebrating this special day with us. We LOVE you, Cam! So happy that you are a part of our family.

First Day of School

Cam started school on Tuesday and is so excited to be back...and so am I. She has a fantastic teacher and most of her friends from last year are back. She is loving it. Jordy is very sad that she doesn't get to go, but maybe next year.

While Chad was driving in one of his remote towns he found a small bounce house for sale for a smoking deal. He brought it home and the girls have never been so happy. It's a great way to tire them out each night before bed, and a good reward, so that makes me happy. Nice work, Chaddie!

Two years ago our little Jordy joined our family. This little 2 year old is hilarious and sweet and mischievous all wrapped up in a running, jumping, climbing beautiful package. She is so much fun, we love her to pieces and couldn't imagine our lives without her...even when she is putting Chad and I in "timeout".

We blessed Ethan on the 4th of July. Chad did a great job and Ethan didn't make a peep. Chad's parents (Dan & Debra) were able to come down for the special occasion. It was so nice to have them here to share it with us.
Ethan is growing up so fast...he's already 3 months old. Time is flying! He is such a good baby and a fun addition to our family. We are so lucky to have our little handsome man and our beautiful girls.

Spring Break with the Matthews was a party! We loved having the kids and Tif here with us. We went to the Fort Worth zoo and the Dallas arboretum and had such a blast! Cameryn was very sad when her "friends" had to go back home. We always have such a good time with them. We can't wait until we can go visit them!

Cameryn says a lot of funny things. As of late her newest funny comment comes after she takes a bite of dinner each and every night...she says "it's good...it's not so bad." My culinary skills are feeling a bit wounded but I just have to laugh when she says it. Her latest not so funny comment "I don't want to..." we hear this about 1000 times a day and it's hard to laugh when she says it :)

Things have been pretty quiet around here, for the most part. Just wanted to throw out some pics of highlights.

Chad had a scout campout last weekend...and was so proud of his dutch oven pineapple upside down cake. (Dad would be proud.)

Not Much of an Update...

Things have been pretty quiet here...except for Chad and Cameryn getting the stomach flu (yuck). But I figured that I had better post some photos.

Chad turned 30 the end of January. He's officially an old man :)

Jordy started baby food...she hates rice cereal but enjoys peas so far.

Cameryn is hilarious as always. And has found new joy in watching shows on Chad's Ipod. She knows how to find the shows and restart them once their done or change shows...I don't even know how to turn it on :)

I am surviving...and laughing about "terrible twos" because those are nothing compared to the "terrible threes!"

6 months...

Jordyn is 6 months old now...time is flying. I took her to the doctor today for her check-up and here are her stats: height 27 inches (90th percentile), weight 16.09 lbs (50th percentile.) She is growing so fast and changing every day. She has started rolling over...and loves to do it so that she doesn't have to endure "tummy time" any more. (Cam also loves to roll on the floor with Jordy, it's really sweet.) What a beautiful blessing she is to our family!

Chad took Cameryn ice skating for the first time this weekend. Cam was so excited and she loved every minute of it. It was quite the workout for Chad but he really enjoyed it too. Cam kept saying "I want to go around again.' She had a ball!

Cameryn has a lipgloss that she got at a birthday party a few weeks ago...and she carries it with her everywhere she goes. Yesterday I caught her trying to put some on Jordyn. I explained that Jordy is too little to have lipgloss on and Cameryn looked at me and said that she was just trying to make Jordy "more stylish". Hilarious!

Our little Cameryn turned 3 on Friday. I can't believe that my little girl is 3 years old...she is so big! We had a very fun day at Chuck E. Cheese with friends...and a beautiful Cinderella cake. (Really what day isn't great when cake is involved?) She had a wonderful day and we are so thankful that her friends could enjoy it with her. Our little Jordyn is 4 months ( I can't believe how fast time is flying by.) She is so much fun and absolutely loves Cameryn. She now weights 15 lbs 10 oz and is 26 inches long. She is a chunky monkey but is also so beautiful. She has light hair and blue eyes, so she looks a lot like Chad. And she is such a blessing to our family!

The Rhodes family (our good friends from P.T. school) were in town this last weekend. We drove to Grapevine to meet them for some dinner and Cameryn was so excited to see her friend, Mehkya. The two girls picked up right where they left off almost a year ago. We had such a nice time chatting with them and reminiscing. We were even lucky enough to be able to have them spend the night at our home, which made Cameryn very happy. And considering that we stayed with them the last few weeks of P.T. school, we figure we owe them big time, so they are welcome anytime!! Cameryn and Mehkya's highlight was riding the merry-go-round at the Grapevine mall. The two girls smiles speak for themselves! Hopefully next time we can spend more than just a few hours together :)

We had a great Thanksgiving with some friends from our ward. We had good food, football (for the guys), Twilight (for the ladies) and lots of playing outside for the kiddos. Cameryn still thinks that every holiday is some extension of Halloween (which is probably the greatest day of her life...dressing up like a princess and getting free candy, really what else is there in life?) We put up our Christmas tree this past weekend and Cameryn kept saying "It's the most beautiful Halloween tree..." After I pulled out all the Christmas decorations she said "Our house looks so beautiful." She is so sweet and so enthusiastic. It makes the holidays so much fun!!
We also took Cameryn to see Disney on Ice on black Friday and she loved it! Of course her favorite thing was to see Cinderella in her carriage. We took her friend Riley, and they both got so excited when the princesses came out. It's all that they could talk about on the drive home. It was so fun!

Jordyn is growing like a weed. I can't believe that she is 4 months old now...time is flying!

Tif and Peytie came to visit us last weekend...and we had a ball. Although, we wish that they could have stayed longer. We always love having family visit. Cam had so much fun playing Polly Pockets with Peyton, having Peyton read stories to her, and going to Sam Moon (which was Peyton's happy place...and Tif's too.) When we had to drop
them off at the airport, Cameryn was pretty bummed out. But I promised her that we would go visit them soon...she sure loves her cousins!

So, Chad called us this morning and asked if we wanted to meet him for lunch...we were so excited since we don't usually get to meet him for lunch, of course we agreed. I packed up the girls and planned to run to Wal-Mart after for some groceries...everything was working out perfectly. We met Chad and had a great lunch at one of our favorite dives (Braums...good burgers, great shakes). Chad had to duck out a few minutes before us to get back to work, but no problem, I have handled two kids somewhat successfully for almost 4 months now. As I grabbed Jordyn's car seat to carry her out to the car, I noticed a smell. A smell that I recognized and agonized...the mega-poop. I then noticed the lovely shade of yellow that her once white onsie was becoming...Awesome!! I tried to take her into the restroom to find the changing station...but of course since we went to a dive, there was no such thing in the restroom...Awesome! So, I do what any white trash woman would...I decide to change her diaper in the car (hey, the jeep has a lot of trunk space right?) I look in my purse for a new onsie to miraculously appear (but I would have to pack one in order for it to appear) so I was out of luck. I did have diapers and wipes, so I wasn't totally unprepared. After I cleaned her up and realized that her outfit was too poopey to wear, I decided that we'd just buy her a new one at Wal-Mart...but for now my poor child was wearing only a diaper. If it had been August, no big deal, but today was quite chilly and windy. So I put her in her car seat and snuggled her blanket around her as tightly as she would allow. And off we went to Wal-Mart. I raced into the store and went straight to the kids clothes where I found a warm outfit for her to wear. I raced back to the front of the store to purchase the outfit. I then raced to their bathroom to put her in the outfit, where numerous women watched in suspicion as I put her into her new clothes...I am sure that they thought that I was stealing it and using my baby as my accomplice, but I had my receipt so my conscience is clear. We then proceeded to do our grocery shopping. One more awesome part of this story...while changing Jordyn I leaned up against the hitch on the back of the jeep and I had black oil all over my khaki pants the whole time I was shopping at Wal-Mart. Seriously, an awesome experience! That Britney Spears ain't got nothin' on me. But every mom has had a day like this right?

Camping...well, sort of...

Chad had to put up our tent in the backyard to test it out before his scout camp out...and Cameryn was so excited about going "camping". But really our "camping" consisted of eating dinner in the tent and watching Aladdin. She had such a ball pretending that we were roughing it. She loved hanging out in the tent and jumping on the air mattresses!

We blessed Jordyn on Sunday (November 2). She was awake and alert through the whole thing and very reverent. She looked gorgeous and was such a good girl. Chad did a great job and Cameryn was even reverent during the blessing (a miracle). We missed having our family here but are lucky to have such great friends to participate and be with us.

Cameryn had such a good time trick-or-treating this year, she went with Chad and some friends and got tons of goodies (to my dismay). She loved being "Briar Rose" aka Sleeping Beauty for the night and was so stinking cute. On Saturday someone came to the door and Cameryn asked me if they were going to give her some candy, kind of a reverse trick-or-treating...not a bad idea huh? She is inventive. Poor Jordyn spent the night at home handing out candy with mama...maybe next year she can go with Cam.

A Day at the Zoo...

Chad has some time off of work this week, so we took the girls to the Dallas Zoo. We had such a good time and the weather was gorgeous (80 degrees). Cameryn loved seeing the elephant and the "giraffies". She also loved watching the monkeys swing in the trees and riding the Merry-Go-Round. Poor Jordyn spent most of the time in her stroller, but I am sure that she enjoyed being outside. Unfortunately part of the zoo was closed so we didn't get to see the gorillas or the penguins, but we still had a really nice day!

For enrichment this week, we learned how to make "no-sew tutu's". I let Cameryn pick out the tulle, of course she picked pink and purple. According to Cam they are her "fraverites". She hasn't taken off the tutu since I finished it. I am quite pleased with how it turned out, especially given the fact that I am "craftily-challenged". I even have enough tulle left to make one for Jordyn. I will post pictures of that soon.

Let me just preface this by saying that Cameryn is hilarious. I know that I am biased...but honestly, the girl is a crack up. The other day Jordyn was sitting in her swing while I was making dinner. I looked over and noticed that Cameryn was standing mischieveously close to the swing. I asked Cameryn if she was being soft...and she replied "I am being soft. I'm just pushing her way high." We had to have a chat about swing etiquette after that. We've been going through an "Aladdin" phase, which Cameryn calls "Jasmine". Seriously we watch it at least once a day. The line that Cameryn picked up from the movie and chooses to repeat over and over again..."Still I think he's rather tasty..." from the song "One Jump Ahead". She is hilarious!!

I went through all of the fun clothes that Cameryn has received from Cousin Peytie and friends today. And it was quite the endeavor. In one of the boxes Cam found a "treasure" and I am guessing that we will never get these off of her again :) Thanks Peytie!

Last night Jordyn fell asleep on Chad's chest. She is growing so fast. I can hardly believe that she's almost 2 months old. She is so fun and such a good and easy baby. She changes daily and it's interesting to see how much she has grown in such a short amount of time. What a blessing our girls are!!

Princess Cameryn...

Cameryn went to a very fun princess party for a friend's birthday last week. She dressed up and thought it was so fun to have Aunt Tif curl her hair and Aunt Brynn help to pick out her beautiful gown. She even got to wear her "glass slippers" which are really just pink plastic dress-up shoes that she wears around the house, but hadn't yet had the chance to wear outside. At the party they painted nails and got to put on some make-up and decorated cupcakes...she had a ball. And Chad was a very good sport to go with her, so that I could spend the morning with my mom and sisters. If only he had gotten in on the princess action...now those would be pictures worth posting :)

Jordyn was sleeping in her boppy pillow the other day and Cam decided that she wanted to snuggle with her. It was darling! Today Cam was holding Jordyn, and Jordyn was just staring completely mesmerized at her big sis. I hope that they are lucky enough to be close like me and my gorgeous sisters!

We went to church yesterday...the first time with two kids...and we were almost on time. The girls looked so cute in their dresses that we had to take some photos. They are so sweet and fun!

The New York Yankees

Ever since I was a child I wanted to see the Yankees play. Tonight I fulfilled that dream. Cameryn and I went to the Ballpark in Arlington to see the Rangers play the Yankees. Much to my dismay, New York lost 8-6. They made it close with a grand slam in the 8th inning. Unfortunately we heard that on the radio on the way home. (Cam only lasts about 7 innings) I was very glad we were able to go. Maybe next time, if Natalie is good, she could come too.

Chad and I celebrated our 6 year anniversary on Saturday...I can't believe it, I feel so old :) And what better way to celebrate than to take Cam to the Circus? It was awesome! The animals alone were incredible (and of course that was Cam's favorite part.) But I loved the acrobats and the tight rope walkers...really all the cool human stuff. We all had a blast, although I think I enjoyed it more than Cam. She kept asking where the octopus was. I have no idea why she thinks that the circus has an octopus but she does. She's a riot. We had a fabulous time! As soon as we left, Cam told us that she wanted to go again. I guess it will have to be a yearly tradition.

A day in the Country...

This past weekend we went to visit some friends from Physical Therapy school and their two boys. They have a really nice house with their own pond for fishing, and a really cool tree house. Cam loved playing with Tristan and Jason. (Although, she insisted that Tristan was a girl because he has longer hair. I couldn't convince her otherwise.) She fished with daddy without any success, granted her attention span was pretty short when it came to waiting for the fish to bite. But we had a really nice time. Thanks to Patrick and Shannon for letting us come and stay at your home!

It's a Potty Party...

So basically this week we have been home on the potty...just hanging out and watching movies. Talk about excitement. We're making progress, but we've got a ways to go. If anyone has any suggestions, please share them. I would love some advice on what has worked and what has not. We'll keep you guys posted as I know you are all on the edge of your seats :) I figure as long as she's out of diapers before high school, we're good right?

I've mentioned that we're going through a "Cinderella phase"...which is funny to me, because I really tried to shield Cam from the whole princess thing for as long as I could. Anyway, the other night, Cam and Chad went to Wal-mart to pick up a few things and they found a
dress-up costume. Why isn't she wearing the Cinderella dress-up dress you might ask? Because Cinderella's dress was blue and Cam wanted the pink outfit. So here she is, as cute as can be...and loving her heels. She is such a girly girl.

Pretty Toes...

So, lately Cam and I have a Saturday night bonding ritual...she has a bath and then we blow dry her hair (she loves having her hair blown dry) and then we paint her toes. We went to Chad's office the other day and his physical therapy assistant noticed that Cam had pretty toes. So she bought her some of the nail stickers to put on her tootsies, because her daughter loves them and she thought Cam would enjoy them too. We tried them out last Saturday and Cam couldn't stop staring at her pretty stickers and showing them to everyone at church on Sunday. All the kids in nursery got a glimpse and a lot of our friends had to look at them too :) She is a riot!

We had a very busy and very fun 4th of July. We started our day with a ward pancake breakfast at our church...it was supposed to include a flag raising, but that didn't happen. Then Chad and I spent the afternoon painting the new baby's room. It looks really good, but I don't think that I will be painting anything else until after the baby comes...I'm a bit clumsy and it's exhausting. We ended our day with a big BBQ with friends from our ward and neighborhood. We had so much fun and the kids had a blast. The kids really liked the sparklers until the sparks landed on their skin and then they lost all of their appeal. Cam got nervous when Chad would set off the really loud fireworks, but overall she enjoyed them. I think the dads enjoyed the fireworks more than the kids :) Especially the "Ring of Fire". I am attaching a picture of the "Ring" for anyone that has yet to witness it's awesomeness.

Just an update on the funny things that Cameryn has said lately:
1. After hearing me tell her that I couldn't pick her up again tonight because I am too sore...she proceeded to tell Chad that she couldn't crawl into bed because she was "too sore". She is a riot.
2. Arriving at the parking lot of the AMC for her first movie..."We made it! It's gonna be a party!"
3. She tells us daily that she needs to wear a dress so that she can go to the ball and dance with the prince...we're going through a Cinderella phase ;)
4. The other morning I got her up and she proceeded to tell me that she was going to change my diaper...and that I needed some "bum cream" aka diaper cream.
5. While driving the other day she told me that she wanted to drive and that I needed to sit in her car seat.
6. Tonight after her bath she told me that she was going to go to work and that I shouldn't be sad. "I go to work...mama, don't be sad."
She is hilarious!

During Dan and Debra's visit, we had to take them to "Chad's Happy Place" aka Bass Pro Shop. We went to dinner at an amazing barbecue restaurant and then spent the evening eyeing the 100 lb catfish in the tank, shooting guns at the gallery, and window shopping for all sorts of fun outdoors necessities. We had so much fun with them, and are so glad that they came to visit. Cameryn is still talking about playing with "Papa and Mimi" and going to another baseball game! Wow, who is the big ole preggo lady? Is she gonna pop soon or what?

Chad's parents were here visiting for a week, helping us put in a sprinkler system...which was a lot harder than we originally thought. (Thanks for all of your hard work, Dan and Debra!) We were able to break away from the yard for a night of fun at a Texas Rangers game. They played the Tampa Bay Devil Rays and unfortunately we lost...but we had a lot of fun and Cam really enjoyed it! She keeps asking to go back to the baseball game! Probably because she got to stay up late, eat cotton candy and hot dogs and scream as loud as she wanted :)
